The Dyficam looks east across the Dyfi estuary towards Ynys Hir from a
location just east of Aberdyfi. The image updates once every 30
seconds. The webcam may be turned off when the view is obscured by
heavy rain or foggy weather and after dusk.
As an experiment to reduce its Internet usage, the Dyficam operating times
have been changed.  Instead of sending blank pictures while it is too dark to
see the view, the camera will now automatically start at sunrise and stop at
sunset each day.
So the times can be checked, they have been added to the footer below the
image. They should update each day throughout the year.

The Dyficam site now generates more solar electricity than the webcam and
computers consume. The whole Dyfi.com site, including internet servers now runs on
renewable or locally derived green energy sources!
